The short version: Tukay keeps the receipts for money you lend and borrow with people you know. Be honest, pay back, and we'll keep the record straight.
What Tukay is (and isn't)
Tukay records informal loans between people. It is not a lender, bank or payment service: we never hold or move money, and we don't lend to anyone. Transfers happen between your own bank accounts.
Your account
You must be 18 or older and use your real name. Your $tag is yours for good and can't be changed. Keep your sign-in to yourself.
Contracts
A Tukay Paper records what both of you agreed: the amount, the due date and any note. The lender signs when they create it, and it only counts once the borrower signs too. Paying back is between the two of you; Tukay doesn't guarantee anyone will.
Paybacks count once the lender confirms them, or automatically after 48 hours. A lender can say a payment didn't arrive, and the borrower can push back once with a receipt.
Tukay Score
Everyone starts at 500. Paying back early, on the day or late, and defaults reported after 30 days late, move your score as shown on the score page. We may adjust the rules to keep them fair. The Tukay Score is about your record on Tukay; it isn't a credit report.
Play fair
Don't record payments you didn't make, dispute ones you received, upload fake receipts, or use Tukay to harass anyone. We may suspend accounts that do.
Beta
Tukay is in beta. We work hard to keep it running and your records accurate, but it's provided as is, and we aren't responsible for loans that aren't paid back or for losses from using it.
Changes
If these terms change, we'll update the date at the top. Using Tukay after that means you accept the new version.
